A beautiful song by Randy Newman, I can't do it justice--but I tried...

day 66
The impressive array of exotic fruit at the new Kroger.
The power went out during one of my classes, besides cutting all the lights--it also turned the room upside down.
Some gigantic gambling machine on campus today, not sure on the legality of that.
A rainy Little Rock from the seventh floor of Stabler Hall.

day 61
Well, we are waiting to use our washer and dryer. You may have noticed in the picture yesterday, the large electrical plug atop our dryer will not be plugged in until our landlord can send someone over to bring the exterior dryer vent system up to fire code. Allegedly someone will be here tomorrow. I will be sure to take some pictures of our first set of laundry...hold your breath.

day 60
Check out our new washer and dryer:
They are actually pretty amazing, even though they look kind've simple. First of all they are high efficiency, which means they use about half of the water and electricity of normal washers and dryers (in fact we could have gotten a rebate from the government if we had an old washer and dryer set to tow away). The washer is agitator-less, and both drums are stainless-steel. The coolest feature is that the washer weighs the clothes and uses just the right amount of water, to conserve. We considered some nice side-loaders (which look much cooler) but found out from both the salesperson's advice and our own research that these had the best features of the side-loaders without their maitenance. Apparently, you must always leave the doors open (when not in use) on side-loaders or they build up mildew. They also require a bleach rinse every month. Alicia cannot stand the smell of bleach, and I must say--I am not too fond of it myself.
