day 60

Check out our new washer and dryer:

They are actually pretty amazing, even though they look kind've simple. First of all they are high efficiency, which means they use about half of the water and electricity of normal washers and dryers (in fact we could have gotten a rebate from the government if we had an old washer and dryer set to tow away). The washer is agitator-less, and both drums are stainless-steel. The coolest feature is that the washer weighs the clothes and uses just the right amount of water, to conserve. We considered some nice side-loaders (which look much cooler) but found out from both the salesperson's advice and our own research that these had the best features of the side-loaders without their maitenance. Apparently, you must always leave the doors open (when not in use) on side-loaders or they build up mildew. They also require a bleach rinse every month. Alicia cannot stand the smell of bleach, and I must say--I am not too fond of it myself.
